Illustrations about the Antichrist, both in terms of the nature and characteristics of its existence on earth have been explained so much by the Apostle Al-Amin. The Dajjal with the title Al-Masih has changed the faith and life of the people. With the features that are facilitated by Allah, not a few servants of faith turn into people who are subject to their slander. This unprecedented slander seemed to provide his own admiration which in the end he was believed to be the true God.
In this paper, the discussion on the Antichrist as a whole will be presented descriptively-analytically, by exploring the related traditions, this discussion is expected to be able to provide some interesting discourse to be discussed and developed. In addition, by understanding the Antichrist, the author expects an "additional" belief and belief that the Antichrist is in sight. So that we can be careful and prepare ourselves in the face of this extraordinary lie.
History of Al-Masih (Dajjal)
One of the signs that the Hour is approaching is the appearance of an Antichrist with the title Al-Masih. [2] Lafal Al-Masih can mean Al-Shiddiq (true / who likes the truth) [3] and Al-Kadzdzab (who like to lie). The word can be expressed for the Prophet Jesus r.a. and also for the Antichrist himself. However, if used for the Antichrist then these penbatans contain several meanings.
In some narrations it is stated that one of the reasons for the Al-Masih Al-Dajjal's eruption is that the Dajjal's eyes are deformed so that they cannot see. Rasullullah SAW said:
حدثنا إبراهيم بن المنذر حدثنا أبو ضمرة حدثنا موسى عن نافع قال عبد الله ذكر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يوما بين ظهري الناس المسيح الدجال فقال إن الله ليس بأعور ألا إن المسيح الدجال أعور العين اليمنى كأن عينه عنبة طافية وأراني الليلة عند الكعبة في المنام فإذا رجل آدَمُ كَأَحْسَنِ مَا يُرَى مِنْ أُدْمِ الرِّجَالِ تَضْرِبُ لِمَّتُهُ بَيْنَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ر جل الشعر يقطر رأسه ماء واضعا يديه على منكبي رجلين وهو يطوف بالبيت فقلت من هذا فقالوا هذا المسيح ابن مريم ثم رأيت رجلا وراءه جعدا قططا أعور العين اليمنى كأشبه من رأيت بابن قطن واضعا يديه على منكبي رجل يطوف بالبيت فقلت من هذا قالوا المسيح الدجال تابعه عبيد اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ
In addition, the title of Al-Masih is carried by the Antichrist because he has the ability to erase the earth, step on it in one step and cut it. The pronunciation of the Antichrist has a closed and mixed meaning. The impulse of the name of the Antichrist to him because he is able to cover the truth with his mystical power, and envelops humans with confession and lies. [6] There are also those who say that he covered with many groups.
History records, the recording of the name Dajjal is also used by the Prophet Muhammad for religious liars. Rasulullah SAW promised to abduct the Antichrist to 30 liars. And the last time out is the king of liars Al-Masih Al-Dajal who will come out at the end of time.
The Antichrist promised by the Messenger of Allah
Every Apostle sent has warned his people of the danger of the Antichrist's slander. But the warning of the Prophet Muhammad to Muslims is a warning that was never delivered by the prophets before. Perhaps the Prophet himself was convinced that his people would face the Antichrist slander, because Muslims were the last people who would face the riots of the end times. So his messages to his people about the Antichrist so much scattered in the traditions about slander.
Many of these narrations show that the attention of the people of Muhammad to Al-Masih Al-Dajjal was devoted to him, although that did not mean forgetting the others. As proof, that every day we must not forget the Antichrist is the command of the Messenger of Allah to ask for protection from Allah from the defamation of the Antichrist at the end of each prayer. The Prophet prayed:
حدثني عن مالك عن أبي الزبير المكي عن طاوس اليماني عن عبد الله بن عباس أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يعلمهم هذا الدعاء كما يعلمهم السورة من القرآن يقول اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب جهنم وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر وأعوذ بك من فتنة المسيح الدجال وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ
To the Antichrist, Allah gave His will, making it able to do something beyond human reason. Allah gives awesome powers which are never given to creatures other than him. All this is intended to test the faith of His servants and find out who is sticking to the promise of the Prophet Muhammad when slander arrives. So it is very ironic if Muslims are not careful about the coming of the Dajjal al-Mau'ud.
The characteristics and nature of the Antichrist in the Prophet's Hadith
Information about the Antichrist is only sourced from the traditions of the Apostles, narrations that show its characteristics very much. At least Abu Fatiah Al-Adnani recorded thirteen narrations that showed the characteristics of the Antichrist, namely:
1. From Ibn Umar Rasulullah SAW said, "so I went while turning my head, suddenly there was a man with red skin and wavy hair."
2. It is from Khudzaifah ibn Yemen that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "The Antichrist is a person with a defect in his left eye and his hair is curly like a foam because of his bushiness."
3. In the hadith of Khudzaifah it is stated, "Indeed, the Antichrist has his eyes erased and on top of that there is a thick eye membrane ..."
4. It was from Abu Sa'id Al-Khudhri that the Messenger of Allah said, "and was not sent by a prophet who was followed except to warn his people against the Antichrist. I have explained that he is disabled, whereas your Lord is not disabled. His right eye is protruding and cannot be hidden, as if phlegm is on the chalk wall, while his left eye is like a round planet ... "
5. It was from Umar that the Messenger of Allāh SA said, "while I was sleeping, I dreamed of doing tawaf in Baitullah, then he said that he saw Isa Ibn Maryam a.s. then saw the Dajjal and mentioned his characteristics with his saying, "he was a fat man, red skinned, curly hair, one eye blind and his eyes were like ripe grapes (not shining). The companions said, "The Dajjal is more like Ibn Qathan, a man from Khuza'ah.
6. And among its characteristics are as mentioned in the hadith Fatimah bint Qais about the story of Al-Jasash, in the narration Tamim al-Dari said, "...... then we departed immediately so that when we arrived at the monastery suddenly there was a big person (great) and tied very tight ... "
7. In the hadith of Imran bin Husayn, he said, I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAS) said, "Since the creation of Adam until the coming of the Judgment Day there are no creatures greater than the Antichrist."
8. The Antichrist has no descendants, as narrated in the hadith of Abi Sa'id Al-Khudri in his story with Ibn Shayyad. Ibn Shayyad said to Abi Sa'id, "I met many people and they thought I was Dajjal. Haven't you ever heard the Messenger of Allāh SA say that the Antichrist has no children? Abu Sa'id answered, "correct" Ibn Shayad said again, "even though I have children ..."
9. It was from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah pernah had mentioned before the people, then he said, "God truly is not blind in his eyes. I believe, in fact Al-Masih Al-Dajjal is blind in one eye, right as if his eyes were grapes that are protruding. "
10. Ubadah bin Al-Shamit narrates that the Messenger of Allah said, "actually the Dajjal is a short, fat man with keribo hair, blind in one eye, and his eyes are not protruding and do not sink."
11. In the hadith of Abu Hurairah, the Messenger of Allah said, "As for the error, it is blind with one eye, the width of the forehead, the area of the upper part of the chest and the bent (leg)
12. In the hadith of the Khudzaifah Rasulullah said, "The Antichrist is blind in his left eye and thick in his hair."
13. In the hadith of Anas Rasulullah SAW said, "and between his eyes was written the words" infidel "which he then spelled the words that can be read by Muslims.
It should be noted that in the narrations above it is mentioned that the Dajjal is blind in the right eye and in another history it is explained that the Dajjal is blind in the left. After the pilgrimage, the two contradictory narrations are for Hajar, a history which states that the narration which states that the Dajjal is blind to the left is stronger, because of the strength of Ibn Umar.
The time and place where the Antichrist will come out
There are not many narrations that explain the time and place of the coming of the Antichrist. In fact, there is not even one piece of information that explains it with certainty about it. The Hadith Tamim Al-Dari, which was written by Fatimah bint Qais, explained the position of the Antichrist outside Yemen.
Abu Hurairah said: I listened to Abu Al-Qasim say, "the Dajjal blind will come out of the east at the time of darkness that is the age of human division."
These narrations do not show the exact clarity of the time and place of the appearance of the Antichrist. Thus the Ulama 'assess this as the wisdom contained in it so that humans are expected to always prepare themselves in the face of the appearance of the curse.
Overall, the existing history shows the existence of the emergence of the Antichrist. The first period, the Antichrist goes out to show strength, make slander and talbis, find supporters, and spread propaganda that he is a good and wise man.
During this time the Antichrist gained victory and defeated many of his enemies. This period lasts quite long.
If referring to the opinion which states that Ibn Shayyad is the Antichrist, then from that time also the Antichrist has come out. There is a history that shows that he went out for 40 days, but his first day was like 1 year, his second day was like a month and his third day was like a week.
The second period, is the period of the exit of the Antichrist for the second time, namely the last battle between the Antichrist and the Muslims and it happened after the arrival of the Mahdi.
Supporters of the Antichrist are Ashbahan Jews [15] who live in a Jewish village. There were 70,000 of them, all wearing the same uniform.
The departure of the Antichrist from the east is caused by anger, it is as mentioned in a narration; "Indeed, the Antichrist will come out of anger."
The arrival of the Antichrist occurred after the Mahdi and the Muslims succeeded in conquering Constantine.
Narrated from Abu Bakar Al-Shiddiq r.a. he said Rasulullah SAW said to us, "The Dajjal will come out of this earth in the east called Khurasan." Ibn Kathir said, "Then the Dajjal will emerge from Ashbahan, from the village called Al-Jewishyyah." This opinion can be proven from the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad which reads:
حدثنا منصور بن أبي مزاحم حدثنا يحيى بن حمزة عن الأوزاعي عن إسحق بن عبد الله عن عمه أنس بن مالك أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال يتبع الدجال من يهود أصبهان سبعون ألفا عليهم الطيالسة [
Defamation of the Antichrist and how to protect him
The Antichrist's slander is the biggest slander among the slanders that existed since Allah created Adam until the Day of Judgment. This is because God gives him extraordinary things that amaze and confuse the mind. Everything revealed by the Antichrist is very extraordinary things.
From the traditions about the Antichrist and the statements of the Ulama 'it is concluded that among the defamation of the Antichrist are as follows:
1. The Antichrist comes by bringing heaven and hell. Whoever enters the Antichrist heaven Allah will punish him with Allah's Hell, and whoever be patient with the Antichrist hell, he will enter the real paradise.
2. The Antichrist is given the ability to command the heavens to rain and command the earth to remove plants. So that those who believe in it, they will get abundant wealth.
3. Among his slander is he forced a man, then killed and memotognya with a saw until his body was split into two, then revived the man and forced him to have faith in him.
4. The Dajjal is able to come to a collapsed building, then he asks that all the deposits are out, then suddenly the treasure will fly to follow him like an army of flying bees.
5. The Antichrist is able to revive people who have died, so that many people think he is the true God.
To be more clear, all these slanders have been warned by the Prophet Muhammad recorded by his companions that we can find in several books of hadith. An example is the following hadith:
As explained earlier, the Prophet's warning against his people about the Antichrist's defamation was very hard, not only to frighten or threaten, but the Prophet also gave teachings to protect from the defamation of the Kubra. Among the instructions taught by him are:
1. Hold fast to the din al-Islam and armed with faith. Know the names of Allah and His attributes well and do not ally him with anyone, so as to identify that the Antichrist is an ordinary human who eats and drinks while Allah is the Most Holy of all of them. The Dajjal is blind in one eye while Allah is not, and so on.
2. Asking for protection from Allah from the Antichrist's slander, especially at the time of prayer. This is widely contained in authentic traditions.
3. Run away from the Antichrist. In a hadith it is explained that the Antichrist will not set foot in Mecca and Medina.
The killing of the Antichrist
The Antichrist's superiority that lasted for so long will begin to be displaced when Jesus is sent down by Allah SWT to restore and save mankind to a religion that is fitrah namely Islam. Prophet Isa a.s. get off at the white tower east of the Jami Mosque 'Al-Umawi Damascus.
Imam Ahmad narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah that he said: the Prophet said,
"The Antichrist will come out when religion is not heeded and science (religion) has been left behind by people. Then Jesus Ibn Maryam came down, then he called at dawn by saying, "O people! What is preventing you from going out to face this bad liar? "They say," This is a genie man. "Then they came out, suddenly they met Isa bin Maryam, then iqamati for prayer and people said to him," please go ahead to become an imam, O Spirit of God. " He answered, let the priest of you who came forward to become a priest. "So when he finished his morning prayer, people came out to meet him. Then the liar (the Antichrist) sees him, he is melting like melting salt in water. Then he went to him and killed him, until the trees and stones said, "O Spirit of Allah! Here are Jews! Then no one follows the Dajjal but is killed. "
With the killing of the Antichrist, then ends the darkness and lies which confine the people during the Kubra slander. At the same time Allah will save the believers from their crimes and the crimes of their followers through the hands of the Spirit of Allah and His words, namely Jesus Ibn Maryam and his followers who believe.
Conclusion
At least there are some things that need to be contemplated in understanding Al-Masih Al-Dajjal. That is:
· The Antichrist is a creature of God sent to test the endurance of the faith of his people. It is a warning to his servant to always remain in the path of Allah, al-din al-Islam. And is a symbol of the destruction of the world.
· The fundamental knowledge that must be understood in distinguishing the Antichrist's superiority and God's power is its physical side. Allah will never be seen by the naked eye of his servants in this world, while the Antichrist and his stature and blindness can see him. And he is a liar who must be rejected invitation and teachings.
